The Shed - Te Miro Rd – alteration

New use for something old........have you ever imagined living in a milking shed?

Nestled near Te Miro Village was an old disused milking shed, on our client's family farm. Attracted by their vision and excitement, we gladly jumped on board to reconfigure the old masonry block and concrete structure into a beautifully finished 3 Bedroom home.  

Engineers were called in to scan and assess the existing structure, which allowed us to re-use the bulk of it. In a time where carbon emissions is in the limelight, re-using in-situ concrete filled blockwork and slabs was true recycling and a big win on several fronts.

The exterior Block walls were extended to enlarge the footprint, then rendered and painted. Additional use of vertical timber battens are used to soften the appearance and provide additional shading around the covered area's. 

The interior is unrecognizable..........have a look for yourself!

To our client who also undertook the project as a Licensed Builder, this is a true testament to their vision, determination and talent.
